About the Collection

We Are the Power of Love is my artistic and creative recapturing of the true life love story that is being lived out between my wife and I. It is an allegorical, comic-style fairytale that shares the story of a couple, who together, joined in love and marriage, are a superhero. Powered by their love, the heroes of the story named Coco & Meeks combat and overcome hatred, sickness, disease and the evil of this world using the power that is generated from their love for one another. The Mask & Half Face:

During the course of their relationship, Meeks, motivated by her love and attraction for Coco, would routinely bite him. She would also regularly state that she found Coco so cute that she wanted to eat his face off. Then, one day she did just that, leaving him exposed and vulnerable in the aftermath of her expression of her love. Therefore Coco, now with his face exposed and bearing the evidence of the intensity of Meeks’ act of love, wears the mask to cover that vulnerability only leaving it off when it is safe for him to expose his vulnerability to the world.

Their Superpowers:

When asked what their super powers are, Meeks states that Coco is her super power. When pressed on how that works she states that you can mess with her and find out how her superpower works. This alludes to the fact that Coco is her proud and vicious protector. While this is their stated answer to how two people can be one superhero; Meeks does have her own non publicly disclosed superpower. Like many people who battle with chronic diseases, Meeks uses her super power to overcome Sickle Cell Disease and function daily as a fully able-bodied member of society. This secret explains why Coco is so adamant about protecting his partner in power.
